What specific services are important to the older person?

What organizations regulate adult day services?

Adult day services are regulated by the state of Missouri and Medicaid.  HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) also applies.

 

Who uses Adult Day Services?

Our participants include adults – ages 18 and up – who have special needs and can benefit from a supportive/assisting community of care.  We are unable to accept adults who require 24-hour care.

Our day services participants include adults who may be:

  • Physically or developmentally impaired
  • Socially impaired or isolated
  • Vision or hearing impaired
  • Experiencing difficulty with personal care tasks
  • Confused or memory impaired
  • Alzheimers or dementia patients

What is a typical day like at Seniors and Company?

7:00 a.m. Doors open
7:00 – 9:00 Breakfast and news hour: leader reads newspaper to participants
9:30 – 11:00 Activities: singing, dancing, exercise
11:00 – 12:15 Lunch hour
12:15 – 2:00  Rest period/snack
2:15 – 4:30 Activities: crafts, games, movement exercise
4:30 – 6:00  End of day: individual activities until participants return home

What should I look for when choosing an adult day center?

Visit the National Adult Day Services Association website at www.nadsa.org and print out the NADSA Guide to Selecting an Adult Day Center. You may find it useful to bring the guide and checklist with you as you interview potential care providers.

Describe your transportation service.

We have two 9 passenger vans equipped with power assist lifts for wheelchairs. We pick you up from your home and return you in the evening. It is our policy not to drop anyone off at home alone.

Our professional and courteous drivers are CPR qualified, know 911 emergency procedures, attend health care classes, and are ambulatory trained.

Roundtrip fee schedules vary based on where you live.
